The Waco Blizzard of Aught Ten

I had a ton of homemaking readiness errands to do today.  However, in a very un-Waco-like turn of events, we have gotten at least 4" of snow, and Mother's Day Out was cancelled.  Now, I have no problem taking Jaxon anywhere (anymore...when he was little, we were pretty much shut-ins - the boy hated the carseat.).  However, five stops, in and out of carseats, in the middle of the biggest blizzard I have ever been a part of, seemed a bit daunting.  And then, as I was getting Jaxon dressed to leave, I heard the wonderful sound of Jack's key in the door.  My dear husband got a snow day.  So, what started out to be an impossible day, turned into a fabulous one!  We got our paint selected (I cannot wait till Friday when it's on the walls!), we got the last pieces of wood for the bed frame we're building (more on that later), we picked out the new door for the new laundry room, he gave me carte blanche on tile and craft countertop selection, and we played in the snow.  Now my two men are napping, and I am trying to figure out how much paint to buy.  I love it!

The First Entry

While I was expecting my one and only bundle of joy, I had a blog to talk about all the things that I was going through.  I loved it.  After Jaxon was born, however, I just didn't have time to keep up with it, but now, I need an outlet.  And even though most of what I have to say is about boring, everyday stuff, I must let it out.  Especially since we just bought our new house.  Well, new to us.  It's quite a bit older than we are, actually.  But I love it.  And because of HGTV, I have many plans for it.  Quite a few people look at me like they want to tell me I'm crazy when they hear them, but I don't care much, because it's mine.  Well, Jack's and mine, but I lay claim to head-homemaker.  So, I'm hoping to post some of my projects pretty soon.  And if they work, then other people can try them, and if they are disasterous, my experience can be learned from.  My free-time is almost up, so I shall close for right now, and hopefully soon, I'll have some interesting things to say.
